"Because I am the main character," said Ketty Mc'kee of herself.
"I was the one born in the mind of David Masterson all those years ago. David Masterson is Chris Bieniek, a sarcastic old guy living behind the Redwood Curtain, a place shrouded in mystery. He is a writer, like many other's who have come before him who will stop at nothing to write a best selling novel."
"What makes you so sure you are right?" asks Liberty.
Ketty flips her golden brown hair and smiles, "Because I was born in the heart of Chris Bieniek, and I was his first love, the one he staked his entire reputation on, the one he imagined before the foundation of the world. I'm an overweight, robot loving girl born from natural childbirth and ridiculed for my genetic neutrality. I'm basic, un-enhanced, plain, and in that simplicity is perfection. he created me with intuition, and I have never been wrong, that is why I'm giving you a Bit Class star ship of your own."
"It's a marshmallow run by robots," says Liberty, a little incensed.
"It will do for someone like you. you were chosen for a purpose too."
"To mate with aliens?" asks Liberty.
"To fulfill your destiny..."

Writing the second act.
http://www.scriptmag.com/wp-content/uploads/1231.jpg
I have been writing the second act and it feels like this article at times. In another book, Screenwriting Tricks for Authors by Alexandra Sokoloff, he states sometimes having to fight through the second act is a right of passage.
"It's that third quarter where things get murky. You feel like your not getting anywhere. In fact you have no freaking clue where you are, or why the hell you're wherever the hell you are to begin with, and you just want to give up and sleep for a week, etc.
... but structurally, this is exactly the point in your story that your hero is in. They are feeling the same way... it's as if we authors have to work ourselves through the same hopelessness.

In
a genetically perfect society, Ketty Mc’kee is a not so perfect young woman who
herds robots for a living. Like prospective hunting dogs, these bots come off
the assembly line fully functional, but it takes up to two years of arduous
training to equip them for bragging rights. Instilling citizenship and competent field
performance as well as building personality is an arduous process. For Ketty,
training bots is a refuge from the realities of life, where the popular kids
like Kato never tire of making her life miserable. But a person like Kato
doesn’t go out in the morning and say, “Hey, I think I’ll be a jerk today.”
Like a well worn shoe, he goes back to what feels comfortable, so it’s ironic
that he is secretly attracted to the one girl people think he hates.
Rayleen
is her closest friend who appears to have everything life has to offer, but
under the surface, society still turns a blind eye towards the destruction of
innocence, which is one reason Ketty is drawn to her. It may be a savior
complex but Ketty knows Rayleen has a destiny to fulfill, and she is determined
to love Rayleen despite her past.
In
reality, Ketty only has one true love, and he is just a screwed up bot who will
never graduate. Boondock is unique in form and function, perfect in Ketty’s
eyes, but he still belongs to the controlling Firm who has issued a recall to
reclaim all their property in the face of an uncertain future. When
her parents die at the hands of marauding aliens, Ketty takes a rag tag band of
survivors and the sugar jacked Boondock on a journey to save humanity and
herself in the process.
